The liver is one of the most important organs in the human body. It is responsible for 500 bodily functions, ranging from processing what ever we breathe, ingest, and absorb from our skins. The liver also regulates fats, sugars and cholesterol in our body and will filter out the unnecessary stuffs out. The liver is one the largest organs in the body and it main role is to detoxify the body and filtering poisons such as drugs, alcohols, heavy metals and infectious organism. When the liver are infected with disease it does not only affect the liver but it will affect the whole body due to the functions liver performs in the body. You will be able to prevent liver damage if you know what are the early signs of liver damage.
The first sign of liver damage will be tissue damage, which occur from alcoholism, pill and drug abuse and toxin overload, presenting in several ways, including scarring the liver, fibrous liver and fatty liver. It is advisable that you go to doctor for liver check up every 3 months once if you are an alcoholic and/or abusing drugs. Jaundice or the yellowing of the skin and the whites of the eyes is one of the signs of liver damage. This is caused by the liver inability to process metabolic enzyme causes the yellowing of the skin and the whites of the eyes.
Fatigue is a common sign of liver damage and may occur suddenly, making the sufferer want to sleep immediately and nausea may be frequent and lost of appetite may occur. Weight loss is possible due to the loss of appetite. Consult your doctor immediately if you are facing this problem to prevent further damage to your liver. If there is scarring in your liver tissue, it will be impossible for the liver to carry out its normal functions and this will results in cirrhosis. You would want to prevent this problem by changing your lifestyle and stop consuming alcohol and/or abusing drugs.
