The fabric should next be pinned with the wrong side on the outside as it would help to sew the hem without being visible on the outside. The next step is to get the stitching done. Start stitching from one side to another and do it slowly leaving adequate space in between. The space that you leave between each stitch depends on the type of the cloth on which you are doing the hem. If it a soft fabric, then you can leave more space and if it is a tough fabric that is used very regularly, you can leave only less space to make it stronger.
