Fruit flies are a pest that invade our living area and they are very difficult to get rid of. They are commonly found in homes, restaurants, supermarkets, and they can be found whenever there are food (cooked or raw) is allowed to rot. It is because their main diet consists of rotten vegetables. However, rotten food is very important to the fruit flies because other than their main diet, the rotten food is also their breeding place. One of the best ways to get rid of the ever-annoying fruit flies is to prevent them to come, as prevention is always better than cure. Always remember to dispose the fruits, vegetables, meats and other foods before they begin to rot and decay. Always store the cooked food inside a good container that you can cover with an airtight lid. However, no matter how hard to try to prevent the fruit flies, sometimes it always appears out of nowhere without a warning. When this annoying insect seems to develop immunity to your cleaning and spraying of bug spray, you can always try other alternatives to get rid of them.

It is best that you clean your thrash properly because the main thing that attracts the fruit flies is your thrash. Clean your soda and beer cans with water if you planning to throw them away or you can put it in a sealed bad. The fruit flies are attracted to beer and soda. By cleaning them properly you give no reason for the fruit flies to come.

You can make your own trap by putting a small out of red wine in a shallow dish. Then cover the dish with a plastic wrap, stretch and hold the plastic wrap with a rubber band. Pierce a few holes on the cover. The wine will act as a bait that will attract the fruit flies, when the fruit flies crawl into the dish it will not be able to escape and you can dispose the trap by sealing it in a plastic bag.
