How Long Do You Boil Corn On The Cob

The most common way of cooking corn on the cob is by boiling it. Corn can be boiled with or without the husk. Some people prefer only warming the husk and others like it well done when the corn becomes very soft. Boil accordingly to your preference from three to seven minutes. The silk can be removed before boiling by running it under cold water or is easily removed after boiling the corn.

Corn can also be cooked in the microwave. Warp the corn in warm towels, and cook them on high in the microwave for six to nine minutes for two to three pieces. Adjust the time accordingly when cooking six or more pieces. Turn it once halfway through, and check for doneness at the end of the cooking time. Season the corn with salt pepper, and dress with butter or lemon according to taste.

Other methods for making corn include boiling it in a pressure cooker or steaming it. If you prefer baking corn, wrap it in foil and put it in the oven it till done.
