Slime is fun to play not only for kids but sometimes for adult as well. Depending on the ingredients but most common homemade slime is actually polymer, a long chain-like molecule. It is always fun and it can entertain the kids for hours and it is really easy to make. Making slime for kids will allow them to play or hours and you can keep them at home when you want to do so. You can make slime with a minimal amount of ingredients but exactly, how do you make slime?
To make slime, you will need very minimal ingredients and some of it you can find it ready in your house. You will need borax powder, water, white glue, a teaspoon, a bowl, a jar and a measuring cup. If you want to add color to the slime that you are currently making, you can include food coloring to make it more attractive and fun to play with. However, you must always remember that food coloring may stain clothes and furniture, you may want to warn your kids to play the slime carefully.
To start making your slime, pour 120 ml of glue and 120ml if water into a jar, if you want to make a colored slime, add a few drops of food coloring. If you don’t add food coloring, your slime will be white in color. Separately, mix 240ml of water into a bowl with one teaspoon, approximately 5ml of borax powder. If you do not know where to buy borax powder, it can be found in the laundry aisle in the grocery store.
Then slowly mix the solutions, the water and glue solution with the water and borax powder solution, when you are mixing the two solutions, make sure you continue stirring the solution together and it is well mixed. When the slime is formed, you should knead it in your hands until it feels dry. The more you knead it, the less sticky the slime will be.
After the slime is formed, the part of storing the slime will be a little tricky. A plastic bag or the container in the refrigerator is a good option. Keep in mind that borax is toxic and you would want to prevent the kids to put the slime into their mouth and advised them to wash their hand after playing with the slime before handling any food.
